What is happening in different parts of the front
The General Staff of the Armed Forces provided operational information regarding the Russian invasion as of 18.00 on 12/28/2023.
During the day, 42 combat clashes took place.
The enemy launched two missiles, made 40 air strikes and fired on 33 MLRS rockets at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings, hospitals and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
In Volyn and Polisia's directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
In the Siversky and Slobozhansk directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, attacks populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. More than 20 settlements, including Klyusy, Leonivka, and Buchki of the Chernihiv region, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks; Seredyna-Buda, Studenok, Volfyne, Myropillia, Uhroiidy, Ryasne, Popivka of the Sumy region; Udy, Vovchansk, Mala Vovcha, Budarky, Kamianka of the Kharkiv region.
In the direction of Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks in the Sinkivka area of the Kharkiv region. The enemy also carried out airstrikes near Petropavlivka and Hlushkivka in the Kharkiv region. About ten settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, particularly Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka and Berestove of the Kharkiv region.
The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in Lyman's direction. He carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Nevske, Novolyubivka, Serebryansk Forestry of the Luhansk Region and Terny, Kolodyazi, Yampolivka, Siversk, Spirne, Pereiizne of the Donetsk Region. More than ten settlements were affected by enemy artillery and mortar shelling, among them Nevske and Bilogorivka of the Luhansk region and Torske, Serebryanka, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka of the Donetsk region.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces repulsed three enemy attacks near Bohdanivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defences of our troops. About ten settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, particularly Vasyukivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Kalynivka, Ivanivske, Stupochki, and New York of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 11 enemy attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka and another ten attacks in the Pervomaiske and Nevelske districts of the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the defenses of our troops. About ten settlements, including Ocheretyne, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.
In the Mariinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the Mariinka and Novomykhailivka districts of the Donetsk region. Here, the enemy made two unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our defenders. Gostre, Georgiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Kostyantynivka came under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers.
The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in Shakhtarsk's direction. He carried out an airstrike in the area of the village of Staromayorske, Donetsk region. About ten settlements were hit by artillery and mortar attacks, including Vugledar, Prechystivka, Blagodatne, Urozhaine, Makarivka, and Rivnopil of the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled two attacks in the areas of Robotyne and south of Novodarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. Here, the enemy, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to dislodge our units from their occupied positions. More than 20 settlements, including Levadne, Poltavka, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Shcherbaki, and Kamianske of the Zaporizhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
Zolota Balka, Tiagynka, Ivanivka, Novotiagynka, Kherson, Sofiivka and Stanislav of the Kherson region were subjected to enemy artillery fire in the OSTG "Odesa" area of responsibility in the Kherson direction.
New AFU's successes in the war against the Russian army
The enemy does not give up his intention to knock out our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the day, the enemy carried out 13 unsuccessful assaults on the positions of our troops, received a decent repulse and suffered significant losses. Ukrainian soldiers steadfastly hold the defense, keep their positions and inflict fire damage on the enemy.
