The Ukrainian military repelled 26 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka direction, continued measures to expand the bridgehead in the Kherson direction. Missile forces hit the enemy's electronic warfare station.
Russian shelling for January 28
During the past day, 74 combat clashes took place. In total, the enemy launched seven missiles and 10 air strikes and fired 86 rockets by MRLS at the positions of our troops and populated areas.
As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. An educational institution, residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
Airstrikes hit the following:
Chervonyi Khutir of the Chernihiv Region;
Rozhkovychi of the Sumy region.
More than 110 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
The situation at the fronts
In Volyn and Polisia's directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active diversionary activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening directions, increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, four enemy attacks were repulsed near Synkivka and east of Pischane of the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled six attacks by the occupiers in the Terny and Yampolivka settlements of the Donetsk region.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces repelled four enemy attacks near Bohdanivka and Ivanivske of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who does not stop trying to surround Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold the defence, inflicting significant losses on the invaders.
During the past day, the defence forces repelled 21 enemy attacks near Ocheretyne, Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another five attacks near Pervomaiskye and Nevelske of the Donetsk region.
In the Mariinka direction, Ukrainian soldiers continued to hold back the enemy near Georgiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region, where 22 attacks were repelled.
The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in Shakhtarsk's direction.
In the direction of Zaporizhzhia, our soldiers repelled the attack of the occupiers north of Priyutne of the Zaporizhzhia region.
In Kherson's direction, the Defense Forces continue measures to expand the bridgehead. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not stop trying to knock our units out of their positions.
During the past day, the enemy carried out eight unsuccessful assaults.
At the same time, our soldiers actively inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.
Losses of the enemy
During the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck six areas where enemy personnel were concentrated. Also, Ukraine's air defence destroyed one Kh-59 guided air missile.
Units of the missile forces struck one artillery piece and one enemy EW station.
