What is happening in different parts of the front
The General Staff of the Armed Forces provided operational information regarding the Russian invasion as of 18.00 on 01/24/2024.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
Fifty combat clashes took place during the day. The enemy launched two missiles and 53 air strikes. The enemy fired 53 rockets by MLRS at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
In Volyn and Polisia's directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups.
In the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the Zemlianyi Yar, Zybyne, and Krasne Pershe settlements of the Kharkiv region. More than 25 settlements in the Sumy and the Kharkiv region were under the mortar and artillery fire.
In the Kupiansk direction, our defenders repelled five attacks near Synkivka of the Kharkiv region, where the enemy tried to break through the defence of our troops.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three attacks near Dibrova of the Donetsk region and three more — in the areas of Makiivka and Serebryansky forestry in the Luhansk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defence of our troops.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces repelled five attacks near Vasyukivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske and Klishchiivka of the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical position.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled three attacks near Avdiivka and another five — near Pervomaiske and Nevelske of the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defences of our troops.
In the Mariinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the districts of Georgiyivka and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region. With aviation's support, the occupiers unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical position nine times.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, our defenders repelled two enemy attacks south of Zolota Nyva and east of Staromayorske of the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhia direction, our defenders repulsed an enemy attack near Robotyne of the Zaporizhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Kachkarivka, Respublikanets, Chervonyi Mayak, Zmiivka, and Novoberyslav of the Kherson region. Kherson, Beryslav, and Sadove in the Kherson region were hit by artillery fire.
