Israel plans to launch a worldwide hunt for Hamas leaders after the end of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.

The IDF plans to hunt down Hamas leaders

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered spy agencies to develop a plan to eliminate Hamas leaders outside the Gaza Strip who live in Turkey, Qatar or other countries.

In the 1970s, Israel had already begun a multi-year campaign to eliminate Palestinian terrorists who were involved in the terrorist attack on the Munich Olympics.

Some called for Israel to immediately eliminate Hamas leader Khaled Mashal after the militant attack on October 7, but doing so in Qatar or Turkey could complicate diplomatic efforts to free the hostages. Because of this, the idea was rejected.

Netanyahu is said to have already hinted at plans to eliminate Hamas leaders around the world during a speech in November, sparking anger among those who believe it necessary to keep such programs secret.

A Hamas attack on Israel: what is known

On October 7, Hamas militants attacked Israel. During the attack, terrorists killed and kidnapped not only military personnel but also civilians. In particular, Israel was regularly shelled from the Gaza Strip. Jerusalem, for its part, launched an operation against terrorists and offensive activity in the Gaza Strip.

On November 24, a temporary truce began between Israel and Hamas. At the same time, the parties agreed on a ceasefire for four days but decided to extend it for another two days, with the condition that the militants release more hostages.

At the same time, Netanyahu assured that Israel will continue military operations in the territory of the Gaza Strip after the return of the hostages.

On December 1, the IDF confirmed that Air Defense Forces shot down one rocket fired by Palestinian militants at Israeli communities near Gaza. At 7 am, the Israeli army announced the continuation of the war in Gaza.
