The leader of the Republicans in the Senate identified a new world "axis of evil"

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell called China, Russia and Iran the new "axis of evil" that the United States must deal with.

Fox News reports this.

The 81-year-old American senator said the world is now in greater danger than ever in his lifetime.

This is an emergency where we have to step up and deal with this new axis of evil —China, Russia, Iran — because it's an immediate threat to the United States, the Senate Republican leader said.

The politician called Iran the main sponsor of terrorism, which supplies attack drones to the Russian Federation accused China of supporting the aggressors and recalled that the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, declared "endless friendship with the Russians".

McConnell emphasized that the US's Asian allies — Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan — are all interested in what is happening in Ukraine because they know that the leader of the People's Republic of China is watching it. He believes "if the Russians are not defeated, then the next NATO country will be."

He also said that the United States, by providing military aid to Ukrainians, is restoring the industrial base, because thanks to this, jobs are being created in 38 states.

Therefore, the opinion that our aid to Ukraine is not useful for us is not true, the senator said.

Relations between China and the USA

Relations between China and the United States have been strained for a long time. The situation escalated when a Chinese balloon was spotted over the United States at the beginning of the year. As Western media wrote then, Beijing could use it to monitor American secret facilities.

The foreign policy of the two countries is also very different, including Russia's war against Ukraine.

A few months ago, US President Joe Biden called Chinese leader Xi Jinping a dictator. Nevertheless, he wanted to meet with the President of the People's Republic of China.

The Washington Post later reported that the White House had already begun planning Biden's meeting with Xi. It can take place in November.
