AFU General Staff summary: AFU destroyed more than a thousand Russian invaders and 14 tanks

In the OSTG "Odesa" zone of responsibility in the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers will continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro, continue counter-battery fighting, and inflict fire damage on the enemy's rear.

What is happening in different parts of the front

Operational information regarding the Russian invasion as of 06:00 on December 15, 2023, was provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

During the past day, 110 combat clashes took place.

In total, the enemy carried out four missiles, and 50 air strikes carried out 56 attacks from MRLS on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

At night, the Russian invaders once again attacked Ukraine, using the S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile and 14 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type. Air defence forces destroyed all kamikaze drones.

The following areas were hit by airstrikes: Synkivka, Kharkiv region; Serebryansk forestry, Luhansk region; Terny, Ivanivske, Andriivka, Toretsk, Avdiivka, Georgiivka, Novomykhailivka and Prechystivka of the Donetsk region; Preobrazhenka of the Zaporizhzhia region; Dar'ivka, Krynky, Prydniprovske in the Kherson region.

More than 100 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

The operational situation remains unchanged in the OSTG "North" area of responsibility in the Volyn and Polisia directions.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanskdirections, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active diversionary activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the OSTG "Khortytsia" area of responsibility in the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 enemy attacks in the SYnkivka area of the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, our defenders repulsed an enemy attack east of Terny, Donetsk region.

In the direction of Bakhmut, our soldiers repelled 11 enemy attacks near Ivanovsky, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka, Donetsk region. Ukraine's defence forces continue to inflict losses on the enemy regarding personnel and equipment and are entrenched in the achieved frontiers.

In the OSTG "Tavriya" zone of responsibility in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders restrained the enemy, who did not stop trying to surround Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold the defence, inflicting significant losses on the occupiers. The defence forces repelled 23 enemy attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another 22 attacks south of Sieverne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.

In the Mariinka direction, the Defense Forces are restraining the enemy in the Novomykhailivka area of the Donetsk region. Here, our defenders successfully repelled 17 attacks.

The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in Shakhtarsk's direction.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled nine enemy attacks north of Pryiutne and west and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.

New successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the war against the Russian army

In the Melitopol direction, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to actively inflict losses in staffing and equipment on the occupying troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

In the OSTG "Odesa" zone of responsibility in the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers will continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro, continue counter-battery fighting, and inflict fire damage on the enemy's rear.

During the past day, the aviation of the defence forces struck two areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the enemy. Also, yesterday, our defenders destroyed 1 Kh-47M "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missile.
