The invaders do not give up their intention to knock out our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper. Thus, during the day, the enemy carried out 6 unsuccessful assaults. Also, on January 3, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck 10 personnel concentration areas and 2 enemy control points.
What is happening in different parts of the front
The General Staff of the Armed Forces provided operational information regarding the Russian invasion as of 18.00 on 01/04/2024.
During the day, 44 combat clashes took place.
In total, the enemy launched six missiles and made 14 airstrikes and 13 attacks from MLRS systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential and multi-apartment buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
In Volyn and Polisia's directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
In the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, attacks populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. About 15 settlements, including Stepok, Popivka, Kostyantynivka, and Chuykivka of the Sumy region, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling; Udy, Vovchansk, Mala Vovcha, Potykhonove of the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupian direction, the defence forces repelled two enemy attacks near Synkivka and east of Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region. About ten settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, particularly Synkivka, Tabaivka, Ivanivka, and Berestovka of the Kharkiv region.
The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in Lyman's direction. More than ten settlements were shelled with artillery and mortars, among them Bilogorivka in the Luhansk region and Yampolivka, Verkhnokamianske, and Spirne in the Donetsk region.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces repelled three attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka of the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defences of our troops. More than ten settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 14 attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, and Avdiivka, and another nine attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske of the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical position. About ten settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, and Nevelske of the Donetsk region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.
In the Mariinka direction, the Defense Forces continued to hold back the invaders in the Maryinka and Novomykhailivka districts of the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried seven times to break through the defence of our troops. The enemy also carried out an airstrike near Georgiyvka, Donetsk region. Georgiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Paraskoviivka came under artillery and mortar fire.
The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in Shakhtarsk's direction. More than ten settlements, in particular, Vugledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Staromayorske of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repulsed seven attacks near Robotyne and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to restore the lost position. More than 15 settlements, including Poltavka, Chervone, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
In the zone of OSTG "Odesa" responsibility in the Kherson direction, Novovorontsovka, Beryslav, TyagYnka, Ivanivka, Novotyaginka, Kherson, Stanislav of the Kherson region and Solonchaky, Ochakiv of the Mykolaiv region were subjected to enemy artillery fire. The enemy also carried out an airstrike in the area of Zmiivka settlement of the Kherson region.
