The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) said Russia lost at least 13 sailors after the destruction of the Russian patrol ship "Sergei Kotov".

DIU names the number of liquidated crewmembers of "Sergei Kotov"

According to preliminary data, as a result of the attack on the patrol ship "Sergei Kotov", which led to the destruction of the ship, the losses among the crew of the Russian occupiers amounted to 7 — irretrievable, 6 — sanitary, — the message says.

In intelligence, it is noted that the enemy probably managed to evacuate the 52 crew members who were on the ship.

It seems that the rescued and stunned sailors of the "Sergei Kotov" due to the loss of the vessel will be "sailored" by the Russian secret services, adds DIU statement.

Ukraine sank the Russian patrol ship "Sergei Kotov"

On the night of Mar. 4-5, 2024, the DIU "Group 13" special unit, in cooperation with the Ukrainian Navy, conducted an operation to destroy the Russian patrol ship "Sergei Kotov" in the Black Sea, which was launched only in 2022.

Russia used it for attacks on the territory of our country, in particular, at one time on Snake Island.

Also, the Ukrainian Navy reported that a combat helicopter should have been on board the destroyed ship.

The spokeswoman of the Defence Forces of Southern Ukraine, Col. Natalia Gumenyuk, said that "Sergei Kotov" will not be repaired. However, it was pretty new, and Russia was counting on it because it was equipped with relatively modern anti-aircraft missile defence systems.
