What is happening in different parts of the front
The General Staff of the Armed Forces provided operational information regarding the Russian invasion as of 18.00 on 14.01.2024.
During the day, 86 combat clashes took place.
In total, the enemy launched three missiles and 60 air strikes and carried out 45 attacks from MLRS on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
On Volyn and Polisia's directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
In the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, attacks populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. More than 35 settlements, including Baranivka, Volfyne, Basivka, and Ponomarenky of the Sumy region, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling; Vovchansk, Bochkove, Budarky of the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled three attacks in the Synkivka and Petropavlivka districts of the Kharkiv region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defence of our troops. About ten settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, particularly Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka and Berestove of the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, our defenders repulsed 14 attacks near Makiivka and Bilogorivka of the Luhansk region and Verkhnokamyanske of the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to improve their tactical position. The enemy carried out airstrikes in Bilogorivka, Serebryansk Forestry of Luhansk Oblast and Vesele of Donetsk Oblast. About 15 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar attacks, among them Nevske, Bilogorivka of the Luhansk region and Torske, Serebryanka, Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka of the Donetsk region.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces repelled five enemy attacks near Klishchiivka and Andriivka of the Donetsk region. The enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Bohdanivka in the Donetsk region. More than ten settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Vasyukivka, Bogdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled nine enemy attacks in Novobakhmutivka, Stepove and Avdiivka and another 13 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. Here, the occupiers, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical position. More than ten settlements, including Novokalynove, Berdychi, Avdiyivka, Vodiane, and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Mariinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka districts of the Donetsk region. Here, the enemy, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the defence of our troops 15 times. Krasnohorivka, Georgiivka, Maksimilianivka, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka, and Kostyantynivka came under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers.
The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in Shakhtarsk's direction. It carried out an airstrike in the area of Volodymyrivka settlement of Donetsk region. More than ten settlements, in particular, Vugledar, Prechistivka, Urozhaine and Staromayorske of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, our defenders repulsed nine attacks near Krasne, west of Vervove and Robotyne of the Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to restore the lost position. About 20 settlements, including Levadne, Malynivka, HulIaipole, Pyatykhatky, and Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
In the OSTG "Odesa" responsibility in the Kherson direction, the centre of Kherson and the settlement of Stanislav of the Kherson region were directly hit by enemy artillery fire. The enemy shelled Tyagynka, Ivanivka, Ingulets, Mykilsky, Sadove, Chornobaiivka, and Stanislav areas in the Kherson region from MLRS.

During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck four areas where the enemy's personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. Also, air defence forces and means destroyed one Kh-59 guided air missile.
Units of missile troops damaged three areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, one anti-aircraft warfare system and two enemy ammunition depots.
