What is happening in different parts of the front
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided operational information regarding the Russian invasion as of 18.00 on 01/10/2024.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
During the day, 42 combat clashes took place.
In total, the enemy carried out two missiles and 29 air strikes, carried out 19 attacks from MRLS on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential and multi-apartment buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
On Volyn and Polisia's directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Specific units of the Belarusian Armed Forces perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
In the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, carries out shelling of populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Vilcha and Vilkhuvatka settlements of the Kharkiv region. More than 30 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar attacks, among them Gremyachka of the Chernihiv region; Fotovizh, Rodionivka, Volfyne, Vysoke, Seredyna Buda of the Sumy region; Gatishche, Pletenivka, Zemlianka of the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled five attacks near Synkivka of the Kharkiv region, where the enemy tried to break through the defence of our troops. The enemy also carried out an airstrike in the Petropavlivka area of the Kharkiv region. About ten settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, particularly Synkivka, Ivanivka, Petropavlivka, and Berestove of the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, our defenders repelled three attacks east of Terny and Vesel of the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to improve their tactical position. The enemy also carried out an airstrike in the Serebryansk Forestry area of Luhansk Oblast. More than 15 settlements were affected by enemy artillery and mortar shelling, among them Nevske of the Luhansk region and Torske, Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamianske, and Spirne of the Donetsk region.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack near Klishchiivka, Donetsk region. More than ten settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled nine enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Sieverne and another ten attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. H, ere the occupiers unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical position. About 15 settlements, including Keramik, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Sieverne, and Nevelske of the Donetsk region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.
In the Mariinka direction, the Defense Forces continued to hold back the enemy near Mariinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried seven times to break through the defence of our troops and carried out more than 20 airstrikes in the area of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Such settlements of the Donetsk region as Georgiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Kostyantynivka came under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers.
The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in Shakhtarsk's direction. Russian army fired on more than ten settlements with artillery and mortars, among them Vugledar, Vodiane, Zolota Nyva, and Urozhaine of the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, our defenders repulsed four attacks near Robotyne and west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to restore the lost position. About 20 settlements, including Olhivske, Charivne, Bilogirria, Robotyne, and Piatykhatky of the Zaporizhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar fire.
In the zone of OSTG "Odesa" responsibility in the Kherson direction, the regional centre of the Kherson region was hit by artillery fire from the enemy. The enemy also shelled the areas of Tyaginka, Ivanivka, Krynka, and Kizomys settlements of the Kherson region with MLRS.

During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck seven areas where enemy personnel were concentrated. Also, Ukraine's forces and means of air defence destroyed the guided air missile Kh-59.
Units of the missile forces inflicted damage on two areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, a control post, an ammo depot and an enemy EW station.
