German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius admitted that the supply of weapons to Ukraine is delayed, but assured that the capacity of the German defense industry would be increased as soon as possible.

Pistorius promises to increase the production of German weapons for Ukraine

"We have a well-known problem: the defense industry is not keeping up with the demand that exists in certain areas," Pistorius said.

He added that this applies to both ammunition and air defense systems.

According to the minister, the defense industry is building up capacity "wherever it can," but "it's a matter of speed, which you can't have an unlimited influence on."

The head of the German Ministry of Defense explained that it takes time to open the factory and create the necessary stocks, so that later it will be possible to produce quickly and without interruption.

For example, Pistorius cited the production of ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled gun, which Germany had to restore.

He said, "Although it was done relatively quickly, it still lasted half a year."

Aid to Ukraine from Germany

Germany has become one of the countries that help Ukraine, providing military, political and financial support. Berlin offered several types of artillery, Leopard tanks of older and new modifications, IRIS-T and Patriot air defense systems, ammunition, vehicles, drones and other weapons.

The German government announced that it would allocate 200 million euros to Ukraine. The money will be used to restore Ukraine.

It also became known that the second group of Ukrainian Patriot air defense system operators completed their training in Germany. 70 Ukrainian soldiers and officers completed the training. The training course lasted more than six weeks.

And on December 2, Germany handed Ukraine a new military aid package. It included various types of vehicles, shells and anti-drone systems.
