Germany still allegedly does not have the opportunity to provide long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine, as this requires an increase in production.

Why Germany does not want to provide Ukraine with Taurus missiles

According to him, the German troops now have a limited number of Taurus missiles. At the same time, the country cannot increase the production of such weapons to replenish the army's reserves.

Therefore, in view of our alliance obligations to NATO and taking into account the measures that we must take to strengthen our security, it would be wiser not to provide these missiles, added the deputy.

He also added that it is now essential to create a framework for industry to ensure more reliable production of weapons and ammunition. This is necessary to meet Germany's needs and help Ukraine.

Taurus missiles for Ukraine

Since last year, Ukraine has been asking Germany to hand over Taurus missiles, which are capable of destroying targets at a distance of up to 500 kilometres. This is necessary for attacks on objects in the rear of the Russian occupiers.

At the same time, Germany refuses such a transfer. Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not support the supply because he fears "possible strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation."

The call to transfer Taurus missiles to Ukraine was recently submitted to the Bundestag. The German parliament did not support the initiative.
