New road blocks are being deployed in Kyiv region

From 28 December 2023 to 6 January 2024, counter-sabotage and security measures will be stepped up in Kyiv region. This decision was made at the regional defence council.

They will involve officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, the police, the National Guard and soldiers of the 114th Separate Air Defence Brigade.

The number of checkpoints is increasing in Kyiv region. Police and the military will be checking public places: shopping centres, supermarkets, train stations, medical facilities, etc.

Such work will also facilitate investigative actions. According to the police, more than 11,000 people are wanted for criminal and administrative offences, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration (RMA) explains.

The officials urge citizens to be understanding about security measures and possible checks at checkpoints. Everyone must have their identity documents with them.

Inspections in Kyiv

Similar security measures announced in the Kyiv region previously were carried out in the capital. For example, from 25 to 28 December, the military and police conducted security exercises in Kyiv.

In particular, checkpoints and engineering barriers were deployed in the capital, cars and documents were checked, etc.

However, the Kyiv City Military Administration stressed that they had not been informed of any cases of summonses being served at temporary entry-exit control points.
