Operational information as of 18:00 on 12/19/2023 regarding the Russian invasion was provided by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
During the day, 69 combat clashes took place.
The enemy launched 1 missile and 10 air strikes, fired 40 times at the positions of our troops and populated areas from multiple launch rocket systems. Russian terrorist attacks resulted in civilian casualties. Private homes and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
In the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of Russia, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. More than 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Karpovychi in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Esman, Ulanove, Vovche, Stepok in the Sumy region; Guryev Kozachok, Vetaryn, Staritsa, Vovchansk, Budarky in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupyan direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all the occupiers' attacks in the area of Synkivka, the Kharkiv region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the defences of our troops. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka and Berestivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the defence forces repelled four hostile attacks in the area of Serebryanka forestry in the Luhansk region and east of Ternove in the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Torske, Serebryanka, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian defence forces repelled 10 enemy attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka and Nyzhyk in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 22 enemy attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another 7 attacks in Pervomaisk and Nevelske districts of the Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers, including Avdiivka, Pivnichne, Karlivka, Netailove and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
In the Mariinsky direction, defence forces continue to hold back the enemy in Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka districts of the Donetsk region, where the enemy made 11 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our defenders. Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka and Antonivka came under artillery and mortar fire.
The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Shakhtarsky direction. Artillery and mortars were used to shell about 10 localities, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Staromayorske and Rivne in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the defence forces repelled 9 occupants' attacks west of Novopokrovka and Robotyno in Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to force our units out of the occupied borders. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Levadne, Malynivka, Gulyaypole, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region.
On the Kherson direction, Kherson, Tyaginka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka of the Kherson region and Ochakiv of the Mykolaiv region were hit by enemy artillery fire.
New successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the war against the Russian army
The enemy did not give up his intention to knock out our units from the left bank of the Dnipro, made 8 assault attempts, received a decent repulse, retreated with losses. Our units are firmly on the defensive and will continue to hold positions and inflict fire damage on the enemy. Measures to expand the foothold are ongoing.
During the day, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck 6 areas where the enemy's manpower, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated.
