Ukraine's defence forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region and continue to inflict fire on the enemy.
What is happening in different parts of the front
Operational information as of 18.00 on 13.12.2023 regarding the Russian invasion was provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
During the day, 89 combat clashes took place.
The enemy launched 10 missile and 4 air strikes, fired 32 shots from anti-aircraft weapons at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are wounded among the civilian population. Private homes and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
In the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions , the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, attacks populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. About 20 settlements, including Bleshnya, Mkhy, Gremyach in the Chernihiv region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar attacks; Vyntorivka, Brusky, Golyshivske, Kostyantynivka, Grabovske, Velyka Pisarivka in the Sumy region; Veterinary, Budarky in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks in the area of Synkivka, and another 2 attacks in the area east of Petropavlivka, the Kharkiv region. About 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestov in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 2 enemy attacks in the areas of Serebryansk Forestry in the Luhansk Oblast and east of Terniy of the Donetsk Oblast region. About 10 settlements were affected by enemy artillery and mortar shelling, among them Nevske, Bilohorivka, Serebryansk Forestry in the Luhansk Oblast region and Torske, Serebryanka, Spirne, Verkhnokamyanske in the Donetsk Oblast.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the defense forces repelled 6 enemy attacks in the Ivanivskyi and Andriivka districts in the Donetsk region. The enemy carried out an airstrike in the Kostyantynivka area in the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vasyukivka, Bogdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and New York in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiyivka direction, our defenders repelled 25 enemy attacks in the areas east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepovoy, Avdiivka, and another 20 attacks south of Severnoy, Pervomaisky, and Nevelsky in the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defences of our troops. More than 10 settlements, including Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Karlivka in the Donetsk region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Mariinsky direction, the defence forces continue to hold back the enemy in the Novomykhailivka and Krasnohorivka districts of the Donetsk region, where the enemy launched 11 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our defenders. The enemy carried out an airstrike in the vicinity of the settlement of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Under the artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers, such settlements of Donetsk region as Georgiivka, Maryinka, Pobyeda, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostyantynivka came under fire.
The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Shakhtarsk direction . About 10 settlements, including Prechistivka, Staromayorske, and Rivnopil of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the defence forces repelled 6 enemy attacks in the areas of Robotyny and to the west of Verbovoy of the Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 settlements, including Levadne, Poltavka, Gulyaipole, Novodanilivka, Novoandriivka, and Mali Shcherbaky of Zaporizhzhya region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
On the Kherson direction, Ivanivka, Novodmytrivka, Oleksandrivka and the regional center of the Kherson region were hit by enemy artillery fire, and Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region.
New successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the war against the Russian army
