For the first time in history, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) raised the exchange rate of the dollar above UAH 37. However, unlike the official one, the exchange rate was much higher last fall - up to 43 hryvnias.

The official exchange rate for December 14, 2023, is set at the following level: 37.0245 UAH for 1 dollar (+0.0384 UAH).
The euro exchange rate will be 39.9217 hryvnias for 1 euro (+0.0159 hryvnias).
Today's interbank exchange rate increased by 4 kopecks to UAH 37.03-37.05/dollar (buying and selling).
The cash market's exchange rate fell by 5 kopecks to 37.70 hryvnias per dollar.

We will remind you that on October 3, the NBU introduced a managed exchange rate flexibility regime. Before that, since the beginning of the war, the NBU kept a fixed exchange rate of the hryvnia to the dollar, initially 29.25 UAH/dollar, and from July 21, 2022 — 36.57 UAH/dollar.
Currently, the official exchange rate is set based on the results of interbank trading, where the NBU dominates and controls the exchange rate.
Financial analysts predict the dollar exchange rate will be around 40 hryvnias over the next 12 months.
