The court detained three persons involved in the Hrynkevych case with the right to bail of 500 million hryvnias.

New suspects in the Hrynkevych case were arrested

The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv chose a pre-trial measure against another person involved in the case involving Lviv businessman Ihor Grynkevich's procurement of clothing for the Armed Forces.

This person will be held in custody for 60 days with the alternative of bail for more than 500 million hryvnias.

Yesterday, pre-trial measures were chosen for Andriy Kolotyl and Volodymyr Tymkiv, the other two persons involved in the case. They will also be held in custody with the alternative of a bail of 500 million hryvnias.

Three participants have been arrested since yesterday — two managers of Hrynkevych and their representative enterprises. The fourth suspect has been in custody since December 29, 2023, and the fifth was declared wanted.

Ihor Grynkevych and his son Roman were not present at the meeting. Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevich is currently in pre-trial detention on suspicion of attempting to bribe an employee of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) for $500,000.

The whereabouts of Ihor Hrynkevich's son Roman are unknown; on January 18, the SBI declared him wanted. According to the SBI spokeswoman, Tetyana Sapyan, he did not officially cross the border.

What is known about the Hrynkevych case

A few months ago, SBI initiated criminal proceedings on procuring clothes and underwear for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The companies of Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevich won 23 tenders for the supply of clothing to the Ministry of Defense worth over 1.5 billion hryvnias. The companies did not fulfil their obligations or did it improperly, which caused the state more than a billion hryvnias in losses.

On December 29, 2023, a businessman tried to bribe an investigator of the State Bureau of Investigation. Afterwards, he was detained. The Ministry of Defense has terminated all contracts with Hrynkevych's companies, and the court has seized the property of his family and related companies.
