Recently, illicit Russian channels have begun to actively spread fake information on the Internet about the alleged receipt of a British passport by Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov. The Center for Combating Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has already refuted this fake, which was invented by propaganda.

Russian propagandists are spreading a new fake about Budanov

The henchmen of Putin's regime invented the lie that Budanov’s wife and two parents became British citizens together with the eyes of Ukrainian intelligence.

Moreover, it is noted that the passports were allegedly handed over to them by the first former British leader, Boris Johnson, who came to Ukraine on September 9.

The propagandists did not support their "shocking" news with any evidence, but once again rely on invented "Ukrainian sources".

The Center for Combating Disinformation draws attention to the fact that this news is actually another lie of enemy propaganda.

First, the Putinists do not provide any evidence for their claims. Secondly, this is not the first time Russia has spread such fakes about the country's leadership and the heads of various departments. Thirdly, the propagandists deliberately refer to "Ukrainian sources", as such information cannot be verified, the CPD experts explained.

According to experts, by spreading such fakes, the aggressor country primarily aims to cause distrust of the Ukrainian people in the representatives of state authorities and reduce the level of their support.

The Russians also previously spread a fake about the wounding of Budanov

Kremlin propagandists quite often invent absurd lies about the head of the GUR.

For example, in the summer they assured their audience that the main Ukrainian spy was injured during the Russian missile attack on Kyiv and is in a coma in Germany.

Interestingly, the Russians referred to the German magazine Stern, whose journalist allegedly communicated anonymously with the doctors who tried to "save Budanov's life".

However, the editors of the publication quickly denied another fake propaganda.

Stern did not publish such news. So this story is nothing more than an outright fake, another piece of fake news by Russian propagandists, the magazine said.
