Already 15 EU countries have supported the idea of the Czech Republic to purchase shells for Ukraine outside of Europe.
EU members to look for ammunition for Ukraine all over the world
The Czech PM, Peter Fiala, officially confirmed that 15 EU countries are ready to join his country's initiative, which aims to solve the problem of lack of ammunition, particularly artillery shells, in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to French leader Emmanuel Macron, the official Prague proposal is in line with the bloc's past policy, so his country will also join the initiative.
Dutch PM Mark Rutte then announced that his country allocated over 100 million euros to implement the Czech plan and that "other countries will join."
EU doesn't disclose its arms suppliers
Official Brussels refuses to tell journalists which countries outside Europe may be involved in the ammunition production for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The European Union claims that this is currently a secret.
According to Portuguese PM Antonio Costa, EU defence ministers will present "within the next ten days a concrete plan to strengthen the ability to order ammunition to support the military efforts of the Ukrainian people."
Several countries, including France, Germany and Italy, have signed bilateral security agreements with Kyiv in recent weeks.
Official Brussels is doing everything possible to fulfill its obligations to Ukraine, especially in terms of the supply of shells.
