At a closed briefing on December 26, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, said that the Ukrainian command had found 90% solutions to issues for more practical activities in the coming year.
Zaluzhnyi commented on what 2024 will be like
Zaluzhnyi said 2024 will differ from 2023 due to the change in warfare technologies.
The year 2024 will not just be different, it has to be different, because otherwise what I wrote about in the article awaits us. We found the problems, and we found probably 90% of the solutions to these issues, which must be solved in order to act more effectively next year, and most importantly — to save people.
Zaluzhnyi assured that Ukraine is working on this, and Ukrainian partners agree with the command's decisions.
And I can assure you that the next "war year" will be different, at least we are doing everything for it.
What Ukraine needs on the battlefield
In November 2023, Zaluzhnyi wrote an article for The Economist, listing five solutions for exiting the positional stage of the war. Ukraine needs:
Air superiority;
The best Electronic warfare tools;
Counter-battery fire to destroy enemy artillery;
Demining tools;
Building up the reserves.
