AFU

Fighters of the 3rd AFU Assault Brigade compared the battles for Bakhmut and Avdiivka. They also discussed the evacuation and the UAV work.

What details about the battle for Avdiivka were told by the military

Fighters of the 3rd Assault Brigade told unknown details of the battle for Avdiivka.

Many famous people are on our team, and what makes us legendary is our motivation, actions, way to victory, and how we want it and go about it. As for motivation, people are not motivated by money if they are not motivated by the cities that were wiped off the face of the earth—Bakhmut, Bucha, Irpin, and Kharkiv, which are under fire. If this is not motivation for them, it is a matter of upbringing.

Fighters of the 3rd Assault Brigade compared the battles for Bakhmut and Avdiivka. Thus, the "Shutriy" attack aircraft stated that if they were storming and clearing in the Bakhmut direction, then in Avdiivka, there was a slightly different task.

Each task is different, it is impossible to say that they were the same, — said the fighter with the call sign "Shustryi" [means "Nimble" in English — Ed.].

The second fighter number of the medical crew, with the call sign "Pogon" [means "Epaulette" — Ed.], stated that the evacuation from Avdiivka was difficult because it lasted constantly, and there was no time to rest.

Due to the fact that the level of medicine of the fighters was quite high, they provided very good medical care on the battlefield. Also, while they were brought here, they were in a stable condition. The minus is that you are constantly driving, you don't sleep normally, you didn't have time to eat. But it is not so important, because there was work to be done, — "Pogon" said.

The fighters also told what role drones play in battles and how many are lost.

Assault teams don't always see the enemy when fighting in the private sector. There are many houses and cellars where Russians are hiding. Moreover, at night they walk one by one, and it is easier to see them from a drone. The job is interesting in that you directly observe the battlefield, you are the first to receive up-to-date information, plus this is the adjustment of artillery on the enemy, which causes them great damage, — explained the UAV reconnaissance operator with the call sign "Archie".

The UAV reconnaissance operator with the call sign "Eminem" noted, in turn, that more than ten drones were lost in one operation.

This is in one day. That it is consumable I can confirm 100%. But it is better to lose 10 drones than one human life, — said "Eminem".

Battle for Avdiivka

On February 17, the AFU Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, decided to withdraw Ukrainian units units from Avdiyivka.

Based on the operational situation around Avdiivka, I decided to withdraw our units from the city and move to defence on more favourable lines to avoid encirclement and preserve the lives and health of service members.

He noted that the Ukrainian defenders fulfilled their military duty with dignity, did everything possible to destroy the best Russian military units, and also caused the occupiers significant losses in personnel and equipment.
