What is known about Ukrainian sailors held captive by Yemeni Houthis

The situation in the Red Sea is also very important for us, as it has affected the safety of Ukrainian citizens. Currently, four of our sailors are being held captive by the Houthis,” Zelenskyy said.

He added that the Ukrainian authorities are currently working on the conditions for their return.

What the British Prime Minister says about strikes on Yemeni Houthis

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak criticised the participation of Royal Air Force aircraft in strikes against Yemeni Houthi rebels.

Let me say a few words about the situation in the Black Sea. The British-American alliance has launched strikes against the Houthis in Yemen. This was done in order to destroy the facilities from which the Houthis were launching drones and missiles against merchant ships in the Red Sea," Sunak said.

He added that missile and drone attacks on civilian ships in the Red Sea by Yemeni Houthis threaten the safety of navigation.

After repeated warnings to stop these attacks, after speeches at the UN on 10 January, where the need to preserve freedom of navigation and the need to stop the fighting, nothing has happened," Sunak said.

According to him, that is why the country, together with its coalition allies, "took limited steps to defend itself".

And in the face of this aggression, we will always adhere to the rule of law," Sunak said.
