According to preliminary data, during the night and morning of January 2, Russian troops used a total of 99 missiles of various types and attack drones against Ukraine:
in the first wave, the enemy attacked UAV Shahed-136/131 - all 35 of them were destroyed;
in the morning, the enemy used strategic aviation — Tu-95MS bombers, which launched at least 70 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles;
the enemy also launched ten Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K aircraft fighters;
three Kalibr cruise missiles;
12 Iskander-M/S-300/S-400 missiles;
4 Kh-31P anti-radar missiles.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, reported that Ukrainian defenders destroyed 10 out of 10 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, 59 out of 70 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles and three out of three Kalibr cruise missiles.
The following estimates were used for the calculation: the cost of the Kh-101 missile – 13 million dollars, "Kalibr" – 6.5 million dollars, "Iskander" – $3 million, "Oniks" – $1.25 million, Kh-22 – $1 million, "Tochka-U" – $0.3 million, X-55 – $2 million, X-555 - $4 million, X-47 "Kinzhal" – $15 million, Shahed-136 – $50,000.
By the way, according to Forbes calculations, the mass attack on December 29 cost Russia at least 700-750 million dollars.
Russian missile attack on Ukraine on January 2: what is known
In the morning, the Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with 83 missiles. The air defense forces destroyed 72 air targets.
In particular, it was possible to shoot down 10 out of 10 Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missiles, 59 out of 70 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles and 3 out of 3 "Kalibr" cruise missiles.
The attack was directed against Kyiv and Kharkiv. 2 people died, and 43 were injured in the capital. Fires were recorded in 8 districts. A fire broke out in two multi-storey residential buildings in the Solomyan district.
In the Kyiv region, two people died, and 11 more were injured, including one child.
Kharkiv was attacked by "Iskanders". About 25 objects of civilian infrastructure and multi-storey buildings were destroyed. So far, 50 civilians have been injured, and one person died.
