What is known about the fire at the airport in Tokyo

According to NHK, the A350 was flying from the island of Hokkaido to Tokyo International Airport.

The footage shows it moving and then bursting into a giant fireball. Japan Airlines said the plane collided with a Japanese coast guard plane after landing.

It is preliminary about the plane that arrived at Haneda Airport from the New Chitose Airport on flight 516JAL.

NHK, citing the airline, reports that all people on board — 367 passengers and 12 crew members — were evacuated.

The public broadcaster of Japan, citing the Ministry of Land and Transport of Japan, reports that the passenger plane probably collided with a coast guard plane, which caused the fire.

According to Japanese media, the Coast Guard confirmed the collision of its plane with a JAL passenger plane. Previously, there were six people on board the Coast Guard plane. The captain saved himself, and the other five are considered missing.

More than 100 earthquakes occurred in Japan within 12 hours

Over 100 earthquakes from 2.9 to 7.6 magnitudes were recorded in Japan within 12 hours.

It is noted that seismic activity was mainly recorded in Noto in Ishikawa, where the most powerful earthquake occurred on the morning of January 1.

Separate earthquakes, unrelated to each other, differed in different parts of Japan.

According to available information, at least four people died as a result of the earthquakes.

One of the dead is an older man on whom the building collapsed.

US President Joe Biden has already announced his readiness to assist Japan in eliminating the consequences of the natural disaster.
