According to Defence Intelligece of Ukraine (DIU) speaker, Andrii Yusov, Russian pilot Maksym Kuzminov, who flew across the Russian-Ukrainian border on a Mi-8 helicopter, was killed on the territory of Spain, according to information spread by many mass media.

Yusov noted that Ukrainian intelligence confirms the fact of Maksym Kuzminov's death.
However, the DIU representative did not specify the circumstances of the Russian pilot's death.
What the media write about the death of Kuzminov
According to the Spanish newspaper Il Corrispondente, a Russian pilot was allegedly killed by 12 shots in the territory of the municipality of Villajoyosa on Tuesday, February 13.
It is noted that after that the pilot's body was allegedly run over by a car.
The journalists of the publication also add that they allegedly found $100,000 in the possession of the Russian pilot.
What is wrong with the media version
Information about the "death of Kuzminov" was first published by the Eureka News project on Twitter, citing "unofficial information" from the National Guard.
It was assumed that "the Ukrainian secret services could have organised the operation."
The mass media has only a Twitter account and a Telegram channel.
The post itself was rated by only four people, although the project has a total of 24,000 followers.
Such rumors are also actively spread by Russian propaganda media, in particular TASS.
They refer to the Spanish media, including ABC and Levante-EMV, which published information on the "death in Spain of a 33-year-old Ukrainian" on February 14.
The age of the deceased and the age of Kuzminov do not match. The Russian pilot is now 27 years old.
