The ship "Ginger" sank on the territory of the Mykolaiv Seaport. This caused the leakage of oil products.

What are the consequences after a sunken ship in Mykolaiv port

As noted, on January 15, the ship "Ginger" sank on the territory of the Mykolaiv seaport, which caused a leak of oil products.

On January 16, state environmental protection inspectors examined and took water samples at the contamination site.

It is noted that repeated samples were taken on January 19. It is a vessel of the technical fleet designed for dredging and extracting non-metallic building materials.

The Environmental Inspectorate reported that according to the results of the laboratory tests carried out on January 16, an excess of the content of oil products in the samples was established 7-8 times.

In the samples taken on January 19, an excess of oil products was found to be 15-16 times higher.

The inspectorate submitted requests to take measures to eliminate pollution, they added at the end.

What is known about incidents with ships

On the night of February 3 last year, a grain barge belonging to a Romanian company sank in the port of Renia in the Odesa region.

According to Romanian journalists, five crew members were not injured. The barge was also saved.
