The court of the Tractor Plant District of Chelyabinsk, Russia, approved the arrest of a 16-year-old native of Dagestan on charges of attempted sabotage at a military facility of the Russian Army.

What is known about the arrest of a 16-year-old teenager and the accusation of an attempt to set fire to a fighter bomber

According to the journalists of the Russian publication Meduza, the teenager's name has not been disclosed. Still, investigators accuse him of trying to set fire to a bomber at the Shagol military airfield.

It is noted that FSB employees allegedly detained the teenager on January 5.

He is accused of attempting to commit sabotage as part of an assignment from the alleged Ukrainian special services.

During his detention, "means of communication and media containing his photo reports and correspondence with Ukrainian curators" were seized from him, the FSB claimed.

At the same time, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine confirmed that a Su-34 fighter bomber burned down on the night of January 4 at the Shagol airfield in Chelyabinsk, Russia.

What is known about the military airfield "Shagol"

"Shagol" is a military airfield near the Russian city of Chelyabinsk.

The airfield is home to the 108th Training Aviation Regiment of the Chelyabinsk Aviation School and the 2nd Mixed Aviation Regiment of the 21st Mixed Aviation Division of the Russian Air Force.

Su-34 (according to NATO codification "Fullback") is the Soviet and Russian multifunctional fighter-bomber.

It is designed to carry out accurate missile-bomb attacks on enemy ground targets in operational and tactical depth and to destroy enemy air targets. It can develop a speed of up to 1.9 thousand km/h at an altitude of up to 14.6 km.

It can strike at a distance of 150-600 km from the line of contact.
