The first train with international parcels arrived in Kyiv — 3 wagons with almost 80,000 parcels were delivered to Ukraine. This has happened for the first time since 2002.

"Ukrposhta" and the National Post of Estonia Omniva in cooperation with the Slovak company Interport and "Ukrzaliznytsia" have created a new logistics solution for delivering imported international mail to Ukraine.

Three wagons with almost 80,000 parcels from global marketplaces arrived in the first test railway delivery to Ukraine.

The company noted that now blockades at the borders with Poland and Slovakia and significant queues at open car checkpoints will not affect the delivery of international orders.

In contrast to roads, parcels cross the border by rail in one day.

What is happening on the western border of Ukraine

On November 6, Polish truckers began a strike at the border with Ukraine, blocking three checkpoints for the passage of trucks: "Korchova — Krakowiec", "Grebenne — Rava-Ruska" and "Dorogusk — Yagodyn".

The picketers are demanding a ban on registering transport companies with foreign capital in Poland, pushing Polish entrepreneurs out of the market. The Poles reject the joint proposals of the European Commission, Ukraine and Poland and demand a return to the permit system.

The Ukrainian side stated that this demand could not be fulfilled, and the Directorate of the European Commission emphasized that such an issue could not be the subject of the meeting.

On December 18, Polish truckers once again blocked the passage of trucks through the "Yagodyn — Dorogusk" border checkpoint. It has been opened since December 11. Later, on December 24, Polish farmers finished to blockade the "Medyka—Szehyni" checkpoint.

According to the assessment of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, the losses suffered by the Ukrainian economy due to the Polish protesters have already exceeded 400 million euros.
