On Ukraine's Day of Unity, activists of the "Yellow Ribbon" movement unfurled the Ukrainian flag on the top of Pakhkal-Kaya mountain in Crimea.

The Ukrainian flag is on mountaintop in occupied Crimea

The activists reported that the Ukrainian flag was unfurled for the Day of Unity, celebrated in Ukraine on January 22.

We unfurled the flag on one of the peaks of the Crimean mountains, Pakhkal-Kaya, to show the unity of the Ukrainian people, because Crimea is Ukraine! Today, the symbol of Ukraine flies over the top of Crimea, and very soon, with our joint efforts, we will decorate the entire peninsula with blue and yellow flags, the message says.

Activists also raised the Ukrainian flag in Makiivka

Activists placed a blue-yellow flag near the "Sonyachnyi" district in Makiivka of the Donetsk region, which has been under occupation since 2014.

Now our flag is raised on a tericon, from which you can see the road from Donetsk to the border of the Russian Federation. Thousands of occupiers passing this road every day will see that even in the 10-year shadow of the occupation, we continue the fight against the enemy, because Donbas is Ukraine! — the message says.

By the way, in the spring of 2022, with the beginning of the Russian occupation of Kherson, the city's residents resisted the Russian military. The symbol of resistance became a yellow ribbon, which the townspeople hung in different parts of the regional centre. On November 11, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated Kherson.

Meanwhile, pro-Ukrainian activists continue their underground protest in the temporarily occupied Crimea, in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.
