AFU called to be ready for Russian attacks on energy facilities

The head of the United Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Nataliia Gumenyuk, explained that she would not want citizens to expect attacks because thoughts can be material. However, according to her, realising that the danger has not passed is necessary. Ukrainians must be ready to respond promptly to risk, mainly to go to a shelter after an alarm.

After such massive strikes, there may be consequences - such as were recorded yesterday. When electricity, water supply and heat disappear, Humenyuk warned.

She emphasised that it is "necessary" to predict such a development.

Analytics show that further cooling continues. Lower temperatures are forecast. This is, quite likely, a period when the enemy will want to press energetically, the spokeswoman said.

She said that attacks by the Russian Armed Forces on energy facilities are "absolutely not excluded". This means that Ukrainians should be ready for them.

In addition, the aggressor country does not stop the production and supply of ammunition.

Russia's military-industrial complex continues to function. Yes, with difficulties, yes, slowed down, not on the scale that they could afford before, Humenyuk explained.

She added that the rockets with which the occupiers hit Kyiv on January 2 were manufactured in 2023.

Germany invests money in the restoration of Ukraine's energy sector

The German state development bank KfW will provide more than €24 million to restore and increase the sustainability of energy infrastructure in Ukraine's regions.

Germany continues to support restoring and improving the stability of the energy infrastructure in the regions of Ukraine affected by Russian attacks.

Yesterday, NEC Ukrenergo and KfW signed a loan agreement for 24 million and a grant agreement for 0.5 million to finance the project, the report says.

Earlier in December, it became known that the German government would allocate €88.5 million for the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine, which is suffering from Russian attacks on its infrastructure.

Thus, Germany's total contribution to the Energy Support Fund amounted to €218 million. Berlin remains its largest donor, having collected about €400 million since February 2022.
