A precise strike near Mariupol destroyed a railway bridge half-built by the Russian occupiers. Fuel tanks and engineering vehicles also burned.
AFU destroyed a half-built railway bridge by the Russians
The Russian occupiers tried to shoot down the rockets that were used to attack the bridge but were unsuccessful. In addition, the invaders "illuminated" the location of new anti-aircraft batteries in the Mariupol district.
Andryushchenko notes that the bridge was part of the Russians' plan to build a railway from the Russian Federation to Mariupol.
The situation in Mariupol
Russian troops captured Mariupol and the district in the spring of 2022 after months of fierce fighting. After that, the occupiers made the destroyed city their military base.
According to satellite images published online, the Russian occupiers wanted to connect Mariupol with Russian Rostov, Taganrog and other large cities in Donbas. They have already started building the road.
This would allow invaders in the future not to use the Crimean Bridge but to transport means and forces to the front by sea and rail.
