AFU speaker Yevlash says heavy battles are being fought for Tabaivka
The Eastern Group of Troops press service chief, Illia Yevlash, reported about the problematic and challenging situation on the eastern front side of the Russo-Ukrainian war on the air of the nationwide telethon "United News".
The front line currently remains very dynamic, the enemy continues its offensive actions, in particular near Kupiansk. There are also heavy battles for Tabaiivka, currently the village is not under the control of the occupiers, and artillery duels are taking place there. In addition, the enemy continues to press in the direction of Bakhmut, uses heavy artillery, UAVs, kamikaze drones, and uses drop tactics on the positions of our defenders.
Yevlash also published the figures for the loss of the occupiers in this direction.
In addition, our guys managed to eliminate more than 200 occupiers, namely 228, and another 75 samples of weapons and military equipment in the Lyman and Kupianks directions over a day. In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces killed and wounded 95 occupiers and destroyed 70 samples of IEDs.
According to the spokesman, the occupiers are currently starving for ammunition, and the enemy is resorting to ammo supplies from North Korea and Iran.
Answering the question of how numerous the group of Russian troops is in this direction, Yevlash said that the enemy had gathered a rather large group.
If we specifically take the Kupiansk direction, the enemy has about 40,000 personnel there, more than 500 tanks, 650 APVs, 430 artillery systems and more than 150 self-propelled howitzers. If we are speaking Lyman direction, then the enemy has concentrated almost 57 thousand occupiers there,and 500 tanks, more than 110 self-propelled howitzers, 534 artillery systems and almost 200 self-propelled howitzers. That is, together these are quite powerful forces. The enemy does not abandon his intentions to continue preparing his reserves. "We don't see that the enemy is going to stop fighting after a certain time," the spokesman said.
Yevlash emphasized that the main task of the Defense Forces today is to maintain the defence and weaken the offensive potential of the enemy.
Losses of the Russian army in the war in Ukraine
From February 24, 2022, to February 2, 2024, the Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 387,060 Russian invaders, 830 of them in the past day.
