According to the OSTG "Tavria" Commander, Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, despite the fierce fighting and the difficult situation in Avdiivka in Donetsk region, the Ukrainian military keeps the supply routes under its control.

What is known about the situation in the Avdiivka area

Tarnavskyi emphasised that not a single AFU unit in Avdiivka and its outskirts is surrounded.

At the same time, the OSTG "Tavria" Commander says that the Russian occupiers are storming the city simultaneously from several directions.

Currently, as Tarnavskyi notes, the planned strengthening of the Armed Forces units is underway.

In order to expand logistics corridors, raids and strikes are being carried out in the Avdiivka area. Logistics is working, the Commander explains.

He adds that the garrison in Avdiivka is heavily supplied with ammunition and other weapons.

As of 1:00 p.m., there are no blocked Ukrainian units in Avdiivka. In a difficult situation on the battlefield, when only ruins and a pile of broken bricks remain from the fortification, the priority for us is to save the lives of soldiers, — Tarnavskyi emphasises.

The OSTG "Tavria" Commander notes that the Ukrainian military managed to retreat from their positions on the southern outskirts of the city with minor losses.

Tarnavskyy adds that, if necessary, the Ukrainian military will conduct a retreat manoeuvre to better-prepared positions.

What the Ukrainian military say

According to the soldiers of the 3rd AFU Assault Brigade, there are at least 15,000 Russian occupiers in their section of the front in Avdiivka.

Our brigade inflicted critical injuries on the 74th and 114th separate motorized rifle brigades of the Russian Armed Forces. Both enemy units are actually "wiped out". Preliminary, the real number of losses is estimated at 4,200 dead and wounded, the military notes.

It is also noted that the 30th Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces is currently suffering heavy losses, battles are being fought against the 35th and 55th Brigades of the 41st Army, and against the 21st and 15th Brigades of the 2nd Russian Army.

The 3rd Assault Brigade fighters note that the 35th Russian Brigade was engaged on their part of the front from the enemy side; the 55th and 74th separate motorised rifle brigades from the 41st Combined Arms Army, and the 15th, 21st and 30th separate motorised rifle brigades from the 2nd Combined Arms Army.

In particular, the 114th separate motorized rifle brigade — the former 11th separate motorized rifle regiment of the so-called "DPR" — is fighting against the Ukrainian forces. Separate tasks are performed by the Russian spetznaz personnel of the GRU, which carries out night assaults using night vision devices, conducts sabotage, and also adjusts air and artillery strikes. Despite the fact that the occupiers are suffering disproportionate losses, the situation in Avdiivka remains extremely difficult, — emphasize the 3rd Assault Brigade soldiers.
