What is known about the situation in Avdiivka in Donetsk region

According to Vitaliy Barabash, head of the Avdiivka Municipal Military Administration (MMA), the situation in the city area remains complicated and changes not every day but every few hours.

Indeed, the situation is very difficult in our direction. The enemy is pressing, the assaults do not stop either day or night. The Russians are trying to fulfill the tasks and take the city. Recently, a lot of equipment and personnel have been fired. We fix thousands of dead, sorry, "monkeys" around Avdiivka. The guys are talking and you can see on the cameras when the drones are flying, Barabash notes.

He explained that Russian war criminals are trying to compensate for tactical failures by increasing artillery fire.

In the past day alone, the occupiers have inflicted 46 massive strikes on the community.

According to positions, it is usually counted in hundreds. Sometimes, entering a city and staying there for a few hours, you enter with one picture, and leave with a different one. The city changes not in days, but in hours, the head of the Avdiivka MMA emphasizes.

At the same time, the evacuation of the local population continues. It is often cancelled because the enemy does not shy away from hitting the roads. As of today, December 24, 1,206 people remain in Avdiivka. During the period of escalation, almost 350 people left the settlement.

Currently, there is no electricity or heating in the city. The last time there was light was in April 2022. Energy workers tried to restore it but came under enemy fire.

There was no water even before the start of a full-scale war, and gas since May 2022, the head of the MMA emphasized.
