According to the ex-commander of the "Aidar" battalion company, war veteran Yevhen Dykyi, in a few months, Ukrainian soldiers may have an "opportunity gap" to rush forward and even turn the tide of the war.

Russia's army begins to expire on the battlefield

The former fighter draws attention to the fact that the Russian invaders have a severe problem in mobilising because now they only recruit voluntarily for contracts.

What is essential to understand is that the Kremlin is very afraid of conducting another forced mobilisation before Putin's so-called elections.

They do not want to overshadow this ritual action on Mar. 15. A new wave of summons will follow. Suppose we even assume they will immediately start mass distribution of summonses on Mar. 16, the second day after the elections. In that case, those "mobilised" will still reach the front in about four months, that is, somewhere in the middle of July or August.

It is also impossible to ignore the fact that the Russian units currently fighting in Ukraine suffered "absolutely inadequate losses" in Avdiivka.

Even after taking the city, the Russians continue their "meat" assaults.

As of today, they are doing everything possible to capture Chasiv Yar, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine have a strong defence there.

It is the same situation under Robotyne. That is, they [Russians] are advancing, but they are spending a lot of people and armored vehicles. Both critical resources — both personnel and "armour" in them are actually running out very quickly, Much faster than they have time to replenish them now, the expert emphasised.

The situation at the front may change dramatically in April 2024

Yevhen Dykyi agrees with the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) chief, Let. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov.

It is about the fact that already in April, the Russian army will run out of steam and stop advancing.

The expert predicts that it is then that a window of opportunity will appear to even completely turn the tide of this war in favour of Ukraine.

"The window of opportunity" will open, but there are two critical elements — a lack of ammunition and a lack of people," Dykiy notes.

However, the US Congress may pass a decision on Ukraine in March; if not, Europe will join.
