AFU may use spring weather to drain Russian offensive, waiting for West's aid

AFU

Ukraine's defence forces can use the onset of spring to their advantage, drain the offensive potential of the Russian Federation, and wait for Western aid.

How will spring weather change hostilities?

The OSTG "Khortytsia" speaker, Ilya Yevlash, said on the telethon air that with the onset of spring, groundwater might rise, and of course, this will lead to the flooding of trenches, but this time can be used for the benefit of Ukraine.

Of course, this time can be won and used to our advantage since it will be quite difficult for the enemy to carry out offensive actions using heavy equipment — tanks, armoured fighting vehicles of various types (BMP, BRDM, BMD and others).

Yevlash added that the Armed Forces can use it to build fortifications, as they are now in strategic defence.

Our main task is to drain the enemy's offensive potential in all its directions. And of course, it is precisely this time that can be used as productively and effectively as possible for our benefit, — Yevlash added.

The military also added that the Defense Forces expect help from Western partners. Ukrainian reserves will also be prepared at this time.

The situation at the front

Since the beginning of the day on February 29, Ukrainian troops shot down three Russian Su-34 fighter jets.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, visited the front line and announced the expulsion of the Russian invaders from the vicinity of Orlivka in the Donetsk region.

He also stated that in the Avdiivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, Russian assault units are trying to break through the defenses of our troops and capture the settlements of Tonenke, Orlivka, Semenivka, Berdychi and Krasnohorivka.

On the morning of February 29, the AFU General Staff confirmed the attack on the concentration of Russian troops in Olenivka, Donetsk region, with the help of Ukrainian rocket launchers. At least 19 occupiers died.
