The Russian invaders in the occupied Crimea claim that the ships of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, which remained in Sevastopol, will not be transferred to the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. The Russian authorities planned to dispose of them, but Ukrainian soldiers found a way to stop the enemy.

AFU attacks in Crimea saved Ukrainian ships seized by Russia

The Russian propaganda state agency "RIA Novosti" writes about this concerning a source in the power structures of the occupied Crimea.

After Russia's occupation of Crimea in 2014, approximately 20 ships remained on the peninsula, including the large landing warship "Kostyantyn Olshanskyi", the corvettes "Ternopil", "Lutsk", the command ship "Slavutych" and others.

Russian propagandists claim that "until 2023, the specified ships were under guard in Sevastopol."

They say the Russian Federation authorities would not include them in the composition of the Black Sea Fleet but wanted to dispose of them.

However, the Russian invaders had to stop this process because the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) and the Security Service of Ukraine began to attack enemy facilities actively and ships in Crimea, so the enemy concentrated on protecting their ships.

In this way, Ukrainian soldiers managed to protect the ships captured by Russia from destruction.

DIU chief Budanov promises more strikes against Russia's soldiers in Crimea

The head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, stated the importance of continued pressure on Russia, particularly in Crimea.

According to him, our forces will attack from the air, use naval attack drones and conduct covert special operations.

Our units [last year] repeatedly entered Crimea, Kyrylo Budanov recalled, adding that the active actions of special forces will continue in the future.

The DIU chief also noted that one of the priorities of the respective missions was the destruction of the logistics of the Russian occupying army on the temporarily occupied peninsula.
