The Ukrainian military was able to repulse an attempt to storm the city of Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region. Earlier, the Russian army partially entered the city.

The 3rd Assault Brigade cleared Krasnohorivka from the Russian military.

The Ukrainian military has published footage of hostilities in the city. They walked both in the open area and in the destroyed houses of the private sector.

The Third Assault Brigade reports this on Feb.29.

As the Ukrainian soldiers said, the enemy could enter the city by bypassing the mine barriers on the armour and advancing through the streets.

The enemy was not going to leave and was clinging to every house. Russians were knocked out of them by force, bullets and grenades.

More than 100 occupiers were destroyed and the city recaptured from the enemy was carried out by soldiers of the 3rd company of the 1st assault battalion and soldiers of the 2nd company of the 2nd assault battalion of the brigade, the message says.

In addition, on the video you can hear intercepted conversations of the Russians, and how they complain about the Ukrainian military repelling their attacks.

The situation in Krasnohorivka

The statement of the 3rd Assault Brigade on Feb. 28 states that the day before, Russian troops attacked the southeastern part of Krasnohorivka and entered the city.

In order not to allow the enemy to gain a foothold in the units of the Third Separate Assault Brigade, fighters of the 1st and 2nd Assault Battalions carried out a combat operation to clear the city of enemy forces.

They note that in a short period of time, the Russian troops managed to prepare for a long defense.

However, despite the resistance and heavy fighting, the assault groups of the brigade inflicted unavoidable losses on the occupiers — about 100 Russian military are dead and wounded.

The Russians refused to surrender and were liquidated in the houses they occupied. As of now, Krasnohorivka is under the control of Ukrainian troops!
