Air defence downed 23 out of 23 "Shaheds" during Russia's night attack on Ukraine

The Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine on the night of February 20 with various types of missiles and kamikaze drones. The forces and means of air defence destroyed all enemy combat drones.

The Air Force announced the details of the Russian night attack on Ukraine

As the military noted, in general, the Russians launched:

  • two S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles (Belhorod Region),

  • guided air missile Kh-31 (Zaporizhzhia region),

  • Twenty-three combat drones of the "Shahed" type were launched in Russian Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The Air Force said the Defence Forces of Ukraine's anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups and EW equipment were involved in repelling the air attack.

As a result of combat work, all 23 "Shahed" of the Russian invaders were shot down. They were destroyed within seven regions, namely Kharkiv, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Mykolaiv oblasts.

What is known about the consequences of the Russian attack on Ukraine on Feb 20

Around midnight, explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia, Kremenchuk and the suburbs of Dnipro during an air raid warning.

Already in the morning, the head of the Poltava RMA, Philip Pronin, said that as a result of an enemy attack in the region, an industrial facility was damaged, and a fire broke out. The official added that there were no victims or victims.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk RMA, Serhiy Lysak, said that as a result of the fall of the wreckage of the downed kamikaze drone in the Dnipropetrovsk district, three summer houses and two cars were damaged.

There were also no casualties.
