On the night of February 23, Russia attacked Ukraine with attack drones and missiles of several types. Combat work to repulse the air attack was conducted in four regions.

It is noted that the Russians launched a total of 31 "Shahed" over Ukraine, of which the Air Forces shot down 23.

In addition to kamikaze drones, the enemy also attacked that night with three S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, a Kh-31P anti-radar missile and two Kh-22 cruise missiles.

Anti-aircraft defense destroyed 23 kamikaze drones within Odesa, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions, the defenders of the sky reported.

What is known about the Russian attack on Ukraine on February 23

Enemy planes of the Russian Federation launched missiles in the direction of Odessa at night. Around 11:00 p.m., an explosion rang out in Odesa.

Later, the Southern Defence Forces of Ukraine said that the occupiers used Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones for strikes on the Odesa region, as well as Kh-31P and Kh-22 missiles from tactical and strategic aircraft, from the Black Sea.

Air Forces and air defence downed nine Russian kamikaze drones. It is noted that one of the drones struck over the sea fell on the building of the enterprise in the coastal zone of the city and caused destruction and fire. Initially, there were reports of one dead person, and it was also reported that there could still be people inside.

Later, it became known that the death toll in Odesa increased to three people.

In addition, after midnight, the Air Force warned about capturing the enemy's Shahed kamikaze drones. In particular, the military spoke about the movement of kamikaze drones in the direction of the Dnipro and the region. Later, explosions were also heard in Dnipro.

Already in the morning, the local authorities reported that in Dnipro, the number of victims reached eight people as a result of the enemy "Shahed" hitting a high-rise building. Emergency and rescue operations continue at the site.
