Air Defence Forces of Ukraine shot down more than 20 drones during Russia's night attack

Ukrainian Air Defence Forces destroyed 22 Russian drones. The Russians attacked territory of Ukraine with the help of 33 attack drones and two S-300 missiles on the night of January 18. 

The Air Force spoke about the results of the work

It is noted that the occupiers released 33 Shahed-136/131 attack drones from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk region and the Kursk region of Russia. As it is known, the aggressor country constantly uses drones to attack Ukraine.

They also hit the Kharkiv region with two S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles.

The main directions of the attack were south and north. Ukrainian Air Defence Forces worked within the borders of Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Khmelnytskyi regions.

The forces and means of the Air Force and Defence Forces of Ukraine destroyed 22 enemy UAVs. A few more drones did not reach their goals. Anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups, EW devices are involved in repelling the air attack, the message says.

What is known about the attack on Ukraine

The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russian troops launched kamikaze drones on the territory of Ukraine in the evening of January 17.

Explosions rang out in Sumy. The Sumy OVA reported that the air defense forces destroyed two enemy "Shakheds". Explosions were also heard in Khmelnytskyi region.

Also, four drones were destroyed by the Air Defence Forces in Dnipropetrovsk region.

A woman died as a result of Russian shelling in Chuhuyev, Kharkiv region. An educational institution was also damaged.
