Ukrainian air efence forces destroy almost all enemy targets during new Russian attack

On the night of 17 December, the Russian army again attacked the territory of our country with missiles and attack drones.

What is known about the results of the air defense operation on December 17

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia's military launched an Iskander-K cruise missile and an Kh-59 guided missile over the territory of Ukraine (launch areas: Crimea and the occupied Kherson region).

In addition, there was an attack by 20 Shahed attack drones from Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Chauda (Crimea).

Anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defence Forces were involved in repelling the air attack. As a result, 20 Shaheds and one Kh-59 guided missile were shot down. The Iskander-K cruise missile did not reach its target.

According to the latest data, enemy air targets were destroyed in the Odesa, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Khmelnytskyi regions.

A man died in the Odesa region as a result of a drone attack

According to the Operational Command South (OC South), on the night of 17 December, during hostilities, one of the downed drones fell on a private house in the Odesa district and exploded.

In addition, it is emphasised that the blast wave damaged the surrounding buildings, a hangar with the property of a private sports institution.

A large-scale fire also broke out, which firefighters quickly extinguished.

As a result of the fall of the drone, one man died.

The consequences of Russian drone attacks in various regions of Ukraine are still under investigation.
