Air defense forces shot down 14 out of 15 "Shaheds" over Ukraine

On the night of December 23-24, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 15 Shahed-type kamikaze drones. Air defence forces destroyed 14 air targets.

The Air Force reports that the drones were launched from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk region in the Russian Federation.

As a result of anti-aircraft combat by the forces and means of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine, 14 "Shaheds" were destroyed within Mykolayiv, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, and Khmelnytskyi regions.

The South's defence forces note that the combat work of their air defence units lasted more than 4 hours.

Six"Shahed-131/136" type drones, launched in the southern direction, were destroyed. Four kamikaze drones were shot down in Mykolayiv region, 1 each in Dnipropetrovsk region and Kirovohrad region. Hits are not allowed.

What is known about missile and drone attacks on Ukraine

According to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since February 24, 2022, the Russian occupiers have launched about 7,400 missiles of various types over Ukraine, and since September 2022 — 3,700 Shahed attack drones.

Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat clarified on the telethon air that it is all about missiles of all types. At the same time, the Defence Forces destroyed about 1,600 missiles and 2,900 drones.
