Ukrainian air defence forces managed to destroy 7 out of 8 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type, with which Russia attacked the territory of the country on the night of December 28.

Russia's night attack on Ukraine on December 28: the first details

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, all 8 drones were launched by the Russian occupiers from the territory of the Primorsko-Akhtarsky district of Russia.

Seven drones were shot down by fighter aircraft, air defence units, and mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Armed Forces in Dnipro, Kirovohrad, and Zaporizhzhia regions, the official report said.

What is happening in different regions of Ukraine as of December 28

According to local authorities, the Russian army shelled the village Dmytrivka in the Kutsurubska community in the Mykolaiv region with artillery over the past day. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The Russian occupiers launched artillery attacks on the city of Ochakiv and the Ochakiv community. No casualties has been reported.

The Russian army shelled Kherson region 80 times, firing 404 shells from mortars, artillery, Grad, tanks, aircraft and drones.

Russians struck residential areas of the region's settlements and a medical facility in Beryslav.

According to the latest data, 1 person died and another 6 were injured due to Russian aggression.

In addition, it is reported that on 27 December, 56 combat engagements took place on the frontline.
