Air Force speaker ridiculed the new Russian A-50 appearance over the Sea of Azov

Yuriy Ignat

The Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat ironically commented on Russia's decision to risk another of its A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft. It was spotted over the Sea of Azov on the morning of January 19.

Air Force commented the new Russian A-50 aircraft flies again over the Sea of Azov

Even though the night of January 19 was relatively calm, already in the morning in the waters of the Sea of Azov, a Russian A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft was recorded.

It is not often that there is a more or less quiet night in the airspace, no attacks by means of air attack, such as drones, above all, which we are used to seeing virtually every night during the fall and winter. This night is one of the few that was without messages, Yuriy Ignat says.

According to him, there was relative calm after three powerful attacks by the Russian army; however, as the Air Force spokesman notes, this does not mean it is necessary to relax somehow.

As soon as the map (the "Virazh" program for air surveillance of Ukraine's territory - ed.) was empty, but now 5-6 air targets appeared, in particular, in the waters of the Sea of Azov, the already famous A-50 is testing its fate, Yuriy Ignat mocked the decision of the Russian command.

An Air Force spokesman recalled that he and his team warned that another would arrive after one A-50 was destroyed.

There is nothing surprising, because Russia still has such planes. Therefore, there is an A-50, there is a fighter jet closer to Rostov, as well as drones (operational-tactical level) that monitor the front line, he explained.

The Air Force assessed the potential impact of the A-50 downing on the force deployment

According to the Air Force spokesman, Colonel Yuriy Ignat, Ukraine's successful destruction of one Russian A-50 aircraft cannot fundamentally change the balance of forces on the battlefield.

However, Ukrainian soldiers still forced the enemy aviation to reduce its activity.

For example, the Air Force also managed to "catch" five planes in the north and three Russian fighters that were terrorizing with guided aerial bombs near the front line in the southern direction. After that, the enemy is wary of flying closer to the contact line.
