Are powerful earthquakes possible in Ukraine?

The seismologist of the National Academy of Sciences Oleksandr Kendzera recently warned that earthquakes that occur at a depth of 180 kilometers can shake the entire territory of our country.

It is also impossible to ignore that the so-called Vrancha zone is dangerous on Ukraine's territory.

The expert emphasises that local seismically active zones are recorded near the Crimea and Transcarpathia.

What is also important to remember, the closest region to the Vrancha zone is the southwest of the Odesa region.

Kendzera notes earthquakes with an intensity of 8 points on the Richter scale can occur there.
