According to the results of the new POWs exchange between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, another 100 Ukrainian soldiers were returned from Russian captivity.

What is known about the return to Ukraine of another 100 defenders from Russia

Another 100 Ukrainians are at home, in Ukraine. National Guard, border guards, Armed Forces. The majority are defenders of Mariupol. All of them are ours, all of them are back on their native land. We are working on each and every one and we will not stop until we return everyone, — said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to representatives of the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, among those who managed to be released from Russian captivity, 49 National Guard soldiers, 25 soldiers of the State Border Guard Service, 26 soldiers of the Armed Forces, including 11 representatives of territorial defence.

All the freed are private and non-commissioned officers. 84 rescued soldiers defended Mariupol (including 82 — defenders of "Azovstal"), the rest performed combat missions in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions, — the Coordinating HQ notes.

What is known about Ukrainian soldiers released from captivity

It is also known that it was possible to rescue from Russian captivity a medic who saved the wounded at "Azovstal" in harsh conditions and the brothers Mykola and Roman.

At least 28 of those freed are injured or seriously ill. The oldest is 62 years old, and the youngest is 20.

Since the full-scale invasion, it has been possible to free 3,135 defenders from Russian captivity, — the Coordinating HQ notes.

HQ representatives added that the United Arab Emirates was mediating in the exchange.
