Apple will no longer be able to sell the Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 in the US. The corresponding ban was issued by the US International Trade Commission.
Why Apple was banned from selling some Apple Watch models
The US International Trade Commission banned these watch models after finding that the blood oxygen sensor installed in the devices infringed on the patents of medical equipment manufacturer Masimo.
Masimo claims that it invented the technology and that Apple tricked the company's employees to gain access to the information.
The ITC also ordered Apple to stop selling previously imported devices containing the infringing technology.
The ban only applies to Apple stores in the US. That means shoppers can still pick up the Watch Series 9 or Watch Ultra 2 at other retailers like Amazon and Best Buy while supplies last. Last year, selling "smart" watches brought Apple $19.6 billion.
iOS17 problems on iPhone
Earlier, users reported that the battery drains faster on the devices due to the system update. iPhone SE 2020, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone XR users saw it. This is because the program re-indexes all iPhone files. Specialists found a way out — do not click the "Update iOS 17" button.
In addition, hidden protection against counterfeiting was found on the iPhone 15. Special inscriptions and QR codes are visible only under ultraviolet light. This is how the company plans to fight counterfeiting. This will help identify a new or previously used phone.
