In recent weeks, both Ukrainian and Russian troops have been suffering from an extraordinary number of rats and mice in some parts of the frontline. This has become another problem on the frontline.

British intelligence reveals another problem at the front

This year's mild autumn, as well as the abundance of food from fields left uncultivated by the hostilities, probably contributed to the increase in the rodent population, the report says.

With the onset of cold weather, mice are looking for warm places in equipment and defensive positions. According to intelligence, the rodents will create additional pressure on the moral and psychological state of the soldiers on the front line.

In addition, rodents pose a danger to military equipment by chewing through cables. This was recorded in the same area during the World War II.

According to unconfirmed reports, cases of diseases in Russian units have become more frequent, which the military attributes to the problem of pests, intelligence reports.

What is the situation at the front?

At present, the Ukrainian military is mostly on the defensive and, whenever possible, on the offensive. In particular, in the area of Bakhmut and the Zaporizhzhia region.

Recently, it became known that the Ukrainian military recaptured one of the spoil heaps in Horlivka district in the Donetsk region from the occupiers. The soldiers also managed to capture enemy positions.

Recently, British intelligence noted Ukraine's success in intercepting Russian "superweapons" — the Kinzhal missiles.

British intelligence has also reported that in recent weeks, Ukraine has moved to a more defensive position along most of the front line.
