Consequences of the Russian attack on the capital
As reported by the State Emergency Service, a fire broke out on the 24th floor of a residential building in the Solomyan district as a result of enemy shelling. The fire was extinguished before the arrival of fire and rescue units.
The walls on the 24th-26th floors are partially destroyed in three apartments, and the windows are broken in another three.
According to preliminary data, two people were injured, one of whom was hospitalized. Information about the victims is being clarified.
Also, in the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out in a room on the second floor of a two-story unfinished private house due to falling debris. The fire was extinguished in an area of 20 square meters. There were no casualties.
As reported to the General Staff, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 28 attack drones on the night of December 22, of which four failed to shoot down; the rest were destroyed.

On the night of December 22, the aggressor made a large-scale attack on several regions of Ukraine with Shahed drones.
Around 11:30 p.m., powerful explosions rang out in Kyiv. Debris from drones damaged residential buildings in three districts of the capital. Two people were injured.
As a result of a nighttime drone attack in the Kyiv region, three private houses were damaged, and there were no critical infrastructure objects hit.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that this night, Russian troops launched 28 attack drones of the "Shahed" type from Russia (Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk regions) and occupied Crimea (Chauda).
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the air attack.
As a result of combat work, 24 "Shaheds" were shot down within Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zhytomyr, Rivne, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
The Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine reported that 17 UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type, launched from the temporarily occupied Crimea, were destroyed in the southern regions: 10 drones — in Mykolayiv Oblast, 4 — in Kherson Oblast, 3 — in Odesa Oblast.
